Amazing Fact: General Electric Has Built 17,000 Wind Turbines & Generated $30 Billion

A recent presentation by General Electric to investors drives home the big business that wind energy is here and around the world.

Just since 2003, less than a decade ago, when GE entered the wind business, GE has built 17,000 wind turbines and generated $30 billion in so doing. See page 30 at:

With all those turbines producing power, GE now is growing its wind labor force to maintain the machines.  GE states that it has on the payroll 1,000 wind technicians and 350 reliability engineers.

GE's wind business is global and includes making some components for its turbines in its manufacturing facility in Erie, Pennsylvania.   GE is a big green energy and green jobs producer.
